Hi, welcome to Sweet NV Bakeshop! I’m so happy you’ve found us. This bakery is my heart and soul. I owe all my skills to my mom. She made the most amazing cookies and treats that were always sought after by friends and family. She did it purely for the love of baking, you could taste it in every bite! My heart holds that same passion, seeing someone enjoy my baking brings me so much joy.

Baking started out a hobby that is now my business. And along the way I realized my business can serve an even bigger purpose. At seven years old my daughter was diagnosed Intellectually Disabled. We have experienced all sorts of challenges and struggles throughout her 21 years. As she transitioned out of high school and we looked at the opportunities that lay ahead, finding a meaningful job for her seemed like an insurmountable task. The unemployment rate for neurodiverse individuals is consistently double that for typically performing folks. That realization, along with seeing so many of my daughters peers and countless others in the same boat as her, motivated me to make employing individuals with intellectual disabilities my biggest pursuit.

My goal has always been to have a store front. When that dream comes to life, the shop will be focused on inclusive employment, specifically providing training and employment for individuals with developmental disabilities. Not only will we bake exceptionally good treats for you but we’ll also be opening doors and creating pathways to meaningful and rewarding work. I hope you’ll join us for the journey. 🤍
